Most of the Disney videos have a Spanish and French language track. For the longest time she didn't even know the English versions. Now that she is in pre-k, she speaks more and more English, and it's inevitable, but keep trying.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03824093184576253092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25806438.post-69042683578472655052010-01-22T03:09:35.047-08:002010-01-22T03:09:35.047-08:00My daughter only watches TV in Spanish. That's the way to really learn a language for keeps.

Generations ago in the US, parents didn't speak to their kids in their language (German, French, etc.) because they wanted their children to assimilate. But later either their kids or their kid's descendants wished they had learned the language.

AnisahAnisahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11095028817264943486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25806438.post-53705107586292765632010-01-21T00:52:59.359-08:002010-01-21T00:52:59.359-08:00Very cool!!!

Someone recomemended a series of comics in Spanish-- your 8yo might enjoy them (though I haven't actually seen them.) They are about a character named SerafĂn Cordero and the publisher is Edelvives. I know a few are available on Amazon. Also, the movie Planet 51 was actually a Spanish production.katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16975826433125245969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25806438.post-30820566627113730342010-01-20T18:03:09.826-08:002010-01-20T18:03:09.826-08:00Wow!
