New Links and Chicken Noodle Soup please!

It's Wednesday. I don't have swine flu but I have a nasty cold that's kicking my butt. I am uninspired to write, but thought I'd take the opportunity to update my links over there on the right-hand side of the screen. I've been meaning to do this for a long time.

I took an hour to add some great new links and then something happened and I lost everything. (grr) So I re-entered everything but probably missed one or two, so if you can think of any obvious links I should include here on the Meltingpot, please send them my way.

I tried to add a bunch of your blogs, my loyal readers, because I love reading what you all are up to. I think I have the coolest group of followers ever. All of your lives sound so interesting. Wouldn't it be cool to all get together and chat over a spicy cup of tea and banana bread? Mmmmmm...warms my heart just thinking about it.

Since I'm feeling blue (and snotty) why don't you all try to cheer me up with whatever you like eat and/or drink when you're feeling stuffed up and miserable. The more details the better. And let it be known, that the best chicken soup I've ever tasted was at this Dominican dive on 5th avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I think it was the cilantro, but ay papi it was sooo damn good.

So what are you waiting for? Tell me what you would make me eat to feel better.

Thank you (sniffle, sniffle, sneeze.)

Peace.

I could look at this site ALL day, even if I were not sick.

But I do have a soft spot for anything pumpkin related. Pumpkin bisque in the fall is soooo good! Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies/brownies are...!!!Pumpkin whoppie pies!!!

et fin.

I love Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Brownie ice cream. I also love Sunny D, California style. Matter of fact, I never want Sunny D unless I am sick.

And Peanut Butter on warm toast with a splash of honey is delish!

Hope you feel better,
La mama de la colombiana!

Hope you feel better soon. Chicken noodle soup does work wonders.

p.s. Allison Samuels wrote another article in Newsweek bashing Zahara Jolie-Pitt's hair. Her rebuttal is more offensive than the first article.

CFC,
I never met a brownie I didn't like.

Chai,
I have the same love affair with pumpkin, but I hate pumpkin pie. I prefer it savory. Is that strange?

Anon,
Sunny D? You mean the orange drink? I haven't thought about that in a good long time....

Yvonne,
I'm all over the pastry, with fresh berries please.

Ragazza,
You have to be kidding me!!! I'm going to have to see what is wrong with Ms. Samuels. Thanks for the heads up.

I would drink LOTS of orange juice and water. Warm soups are great. Ginger tea, orange tea, lemon tea, chamomile. They're all great. I would also get an air humidifier. I used that to help me get over the flu. There was an experiment done with rats that showed that it prevented or cured them of the flu. Also, keep VERY warm. The flu cannot survive at high temperatures. You have the cold, but I still think it helps.

I think I have the same thing as you. I'm pretty sure it isn't the swine flu, but it is a nasty cold/flu thing and it is DRAINING MY ENERGY IN THE WORST WAY. I'm exhausted by the time I'm finished my shower in the morning... and the day has not even officially begun at that point. uuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh.
Yesterday I had a shredded chicken burrito with very spicy salsa loaded into it. It made my nose run even worse, but I swear it helped me because within a couple of hours my fever was gone (and hasn't come back since). No joke.

Yep, the Orange drink. Never want it unless I'm sick.
