Black Women in Barcelona

Hi Meltingpot Readers,

Just a link today, but I had to share. So close to my heart. If I moved to Barcelona ( a secret dream of mine), I'd beg to join this group. Check it out.

Where's your dream location to live? Would you do it? What's stopping you?

Peace and Sweet Baby Feet!

Thanks for the link; she makes me want to move to Barcelona.

I'd like to move to Luxembourg. Failing that, I won't die happy until I've lived in an apartment overlooking the Seine in Lyon, France.

Thanks for reaquainting me with this video clip! Barca is a beautiful city, but I'm a Madrid girl myself. My son is an adult now, and I am planing a move over seas. I've wanted to live in Europe since I was a young teenager. I've been drawn there, and even thought about moving to Germany when he was a young kid but never made the leap. It was the right decision for the time, but now it's a new time. Can I just say that I'm scared shitless about the move...but, I'm doing it. You either embrace change or have it violently thrust upon you...I abhor violence, so I'm walking into the loving embrace of change.

Ever since visiting Italy 4 years ago, I've thought about the possibility of living there, either in Florence or Milan. I love the food, the atmosphere, culture, and history. I'm currently already living in another country (South Korea), which I really like too. I'm still in my 20s, so I'm not in a rush to decide yet.

Barcelona had always been my fantasy city - mountains and sea, Spanish but not Spanish. It always seemed so forward for Spain. I have previously lived in Sevilla and Madrid (about 15 years ago). The good news for me is that Spain has changed so much in those 15 years for the better, less provincial. But I spent some time in Barcelona earlier this year and I couldn't put my finger on it but Barcelona just felt LESS... Also, my husband and I still got lots of stares, more so than in Brussels where we currently reside and I wonder if the Catalunyan politics would get annoying after awhile (I am probably more sensitive to that given the regional issues in Belgium). I had probably just built up Barcelona too much in my head. But, I am hearing a lot of good things about Madrid these days...
