Hi Meltingpot Readers,

Sorry about the lull in blogging. Just getting back into the swing of things after an absolutely amazing visit to Los Angeles. The Mixed Roots Film and Literary Festival rocked and I met a lot of sensational individuals -- artists of every stripe. Tune in throughout the summer and you'll get to meet some of them here on the Meltingpot.

In the meantime, I'd like to host my first contest of sorts. Only there's no prize except the pleasure of knowing you helped make the Meltingpot a better place to visit. I'm planning a big update of my links list over there on the side. If you know of any blogs that document the intersection of the African-American/Black American experience with another culture (e.g. Kinky Gazpacho the Black and Spanish thing) please forward the link.

Thanks for sharing and please note that as of July 1st the Meltingpot will be back in full swing.

Peace!

Well I have a food blog. My live in partner I refer to as CertainSomeone is a German with ties to Sweden. So yes we are a multicultual househols. Sometime I refer to it and our relationship, but its mostly about food and life in Chicago.

That is so funny I was going to give a shout out to glamah16! She is going to spending a lot of time in Sweden.

I'm a Black American with Caribbean roots who moved to Rome two months ago.

Ooh, good timing! I recently discovered two new blogs along the always lively multi-culti spectrum - Black Indian American, which is a bit on the academic side (not that there's anything wrong with that ;->) and Blackgirl on Mars: Notes on a Life in Copenhagen, the latter of which I am loving. She makes me want to book a flight to Copenhagen with my best friend forevah Ariel just to say hi!

Hello!
Some great blogs I've found include
http://culturekitchen.com/

http://the-silence-of-our-friends.blogspot.com/

http://lolaakinmade.com/

A rather ecclectic collection from some different parts of the world. I find them all very informative!

There is a blog entitled, Adventures in Negroshire. It chronicles the life of a Haitian American woman and her Scottish husband and son. I believe she lives in Scotland (can't remember the city). It's a delight to read though there aren't many updates.

I tried to hyperlink it but it didn't work :-(. So here is the actual web address:
