Mixie Music --Meet Javier Colon!

Ohhhh Meltingpot Readers,

I'm in love. Thank goodness this man is happily married and I'm too pregnant to become a groupie. Please listen to this man sing and try not to melt. Meet Javier Colon, the winner of the recent NBC show, The Voice. I hate it that this wonderful musician has been singing for years, has released two albums and only because of subjecting himself to an American Idol style experience has he gotten the attention he deserves, but still, I'm so glad he did.

Listen to his version of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time:

The fact that he's beautiful to look at, is Puerto Rican and Dominican and would have been a teacher if the singing thing hadn't worked out makes me love him even more. I'll stop gushing now, but I'll leave you with this final song of his, Stitch by Stitch. And I'm just wondering, has anyone else been a Javier Colon fan before The Voice? Do tell.

Happy Weekend!

Listening to Javier sing is like pure poetry. No, I'd never heard of him prior to "The Voice" - but I'm glad the show gave him the wider exposure his talent deserves.

Thanks for the info on his background - I knew he was Latino, but didn't know his country of origin. Although I don't consider a Dominican and Puerto Rican mix as much of a mixie since the cultures are very similar - but yes, they are still distinct.

Another reason to adore him (for me) is that choosing him as the winner won me a bottle of Zoya nail polish! (in a Twitter contest) LOL - But seriously, I wish him the best - his triumph on the show is very much deserved. Thanks also for the past YouTube clip - I'm going to add it as a favorite.

I am so happy that Javier won The Voice and is finally getting the attention he deserves. I have been a fan for many years. I was in college when I first heard his song Crazy playing on the radio. I bought his album and craved for more of his music as time went on. Unfortunately he did not get much attention after that. When I saw him on The Voice, I voted and crossed my fingers that he would win. Now I am looking forward to the new album :)
